WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Steppe biome around Bridgewatch, following a tier-appropriate resource route and hunting harvestable animals.
Hide comes from animals rather than stationary ore or fiber nodes: defeat a harvestable animal and then skin it. A Steppe roam around Bridgewatch can yield both combat fame and hide, but the time to kill animals and the possibility of other players taking the corpse affect the pace.
Before you go A skinning tool and Destiny Board unlock suitable for the animal’s tier. A combat set able to defeat the chosen animals without excessive recovery. A mount and carry plan for the zone’s risk level. Pick a Steppe zone with animals at a tier your skinning tool can harvest. Ride the route and scan for animals before engaging. Defeat an animal with your combat set, then move to its corpse promptly. Skin the body before it despawns or another player claims the opportunity. Continue to the next animal while watching your weight and nearby players. Return to town when the hide haul becomes worth securing. Sell raw hide or compare its value with refining and crafting plans. Farming tips Animals must be killed before they can be skinned; account for combat time as part of the gathering loop. A tool two tiers below the resource cannot gather it, so check tool access before entering a higher-tier zone. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable: hunt and skin another available animal; each corpse is finite, and more animals must be found for the next haul.
Common mistakes Arriving with a gathering tool that cannot harvest the animal’s tier; confirm the tier first. Finishing a kill and leaving before skinning; collect the hide while the corpse is available. Carrying too much hide through a lethal zone; bank in smaller, manageable hauls. When to stop or switch Stop when animal density is low, hostile players are nearby, or the hide load is valuable enough to bank.
