A conditional one-time setup for turning a confirmed claimable asteroid into a station-based resource asset.
PC / Global, current base game
WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
An asteroid sector where a specific asteroid exposes a claim or mine interaction in the current base game.
A claimable asteroid can support a mine that produces resources over time, but not every asteroid offers the required interaction. Confirm the claim or mine option in your current game before committing credits and construction materials. Once established, collect or manage its output through the station interface and keep the sector secure enough for the investment to remain useful.
Ship able to interact with the asteroid and reach the sector.
Credits and construction resources required by the in-game mine setup.
A station or mine construction option confirmed in the interaction menu.
Defenses or a safe sector choice appropriate to local hostiles.
Search nearby asteroid sectors and inspect individual asteroids for an explicit claim or mine interaction.
Confirm the resource and setup requirements shown by the game before spending credits or materials.
Choose a sector whose faction and threat context is manageable for a station investment.
Secure the area as needed, then complete the asteroid claim or mine construction interaction.
Open the resulting station interface and inspect its production and available output controls.
Collect or route the produced resources using the options the station actually exposes.
Check the station periodically and return to the sector if it needs attention or output collection.
Only repeat the setup search if you have funding and a separate useful claimable asteroid.
Farming tips
The existence of asteroid fields does not mean every asteroid is claimable; use the actual interaction prompt as the eligibility check.
Survey local prices before placing an economic station, and size storage to the production you expect to handle.
Repeat, collect and use
The claim-and-build setup is limited to eligible asteroids; collecting or managing output can recur according to the station’s in-game behavior.
Common mistakes
Assuming a mine can be placed on any asteroid: verify the interaction and requirements first.
Building in a dangerous sector without considering station protection: choose safer space or prepare defenses.
Overcommitting cargo or station storage without a plan: match capacity to production and collection needs.
When to stop or switch
Stop searching once the required mine is established and producing useful output, or abandon the candidate if no valid interaction appears or setup costs exceed its value.
