WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Sanctuary III after the main campaign, using the in-game Mayhem access point.
Mayhem Mode unlocks after the main story and increases challenge and Eridium rewards. Use it to scale repeatable content to your build rather than choosing a setting that slows or blocks clears. Treat it as a difficulty-setting progression step: the useful loop is testing a setting in an activity, then adjusting based on whether you can finish it consistently.
Have a repeatable activity available for judging whether a selected level is manageable.
Finish the campaign and return to Sanctuary III.
Interact with the Mayhem access point to open the mode settings.
Select a modest Mayhem level to begin testing your build.
Travel to a familiar named enemy or Circle of Slaughter and attempt a clear.
Check whether enemies remain manageable and whether you can complete the route reliably.
Raise the level when clears are comfortable; lower it when fights become inconsistent or overly slow.
Farming tips
Mayhem increases Eridium rewards according to the cited route, but difficulty only helps if you can still complete the activity.
Reassess after major gear or build changes instead of treating one level as permanent.
Repeat, collect and use
Mayhem settings can be adjusted as needed; this is a tuning process rather than a limited reward. Activity rewards remain tied to the content you choose to run.
Common mistakes
Looking for Mayhem before finishing the story: complete the campaign first.
Raising the setting based only on damage numbers: test actual completion speed and survivability.
Staying at a level that makes every farm unreliable: lower it until your build clears consistently.
When to stop or switch
Stop adjusting when you find a level that supports reliable clears and useful rewards; revisit the setting after your build changes.
