Copper Ore

Before you go
- Vehicles & Mining research and a Mine Control Tower.
- An excavator and truck assigned to that tower.
- A reachable copper stockpile or appropriate processing destination with available capacity.
Farming steps
- Find exposed copper and select a patch that can be included in a tower’s control area.
- Place the tower and inspect its coverage before marking any work.
- Designate the copper-bearing tiles inside that coverage.
- Assign the excavator and truck to the tower; choose Copper as the excavator’s material preference when the work area includes mixed material.
- Provide a truck route from the mine to a separate copper buffer or the intended processing intake.
- Check that the destination accepts copper and has room; verify the vehicles can reach it.
- Allow deliveries to accumulate, then confirm the downstream process is drawing from the copper supply.
- A dedicated buffer makes it easier to notice whether copper extraction or processing is the bottleneck.
- Material preference is configured on the excavator; tower coverage and tile designation are separate controls.
Repeat, collect and use
Continue extracting while accessible copper remains and storage or processing can accept it. The deposit is limited by the available resource tiles.
Common mistakes
- Assuming tower placement alone starts extraction: designate copper tiles and assign the required vehicles.
- Sending copper into a mixed or incorrect destination: use a suitable separate buffer or matching intake.
- Adding more mining work while the stockpile is full: clear or expand the destination before increasing extraction.
When to stop or switch
Stop designating copper when the deposit is depleted or the copper chain has more stored material than its current consumers can use.
