Depths materials
Unlock Depths maps through Shang
Shang provides the first Depths map, opening a progression system for optional repeatable dungeons.
WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Unlock Depths maps through Shang
Shang at Outer Crossroads in Ruined City Underground; take the map to Davis at Home Base.
Before you go
- Reach Home Base for the first time.
- Return to Outer Crossroads and locate Shang.
- Have room in your progression plan for an optional dungeon run.
Farming steps
- Fast travel or travel back to Outer Crossroads in Ruined City Underground after your first Home Base visit.
- Speak with Shang and receive Map: Den of Darkness.
- Open your inventory or map items to confirm the Depths map is present.
- Return to Home Base and find Davis beside the weapon shop.
- Speak with Davis and select the option to head to the Depths.
- Choose Den of Darkness from the unlocked destination list.
- As you explore later story regions, check side paths for additional maps and bring each one to Davis.
- Maps unlock dungeons through Davis; possessing a map alone does not send you there.
- Shang’s first map is a specific early unlock. Later destinations have their own map locations and progression gates.
Repeat, collect and use
The map handoff is a one-time unlock. The resulting Depths dungeon can be replayed, but map collection itself is not a repeatable farm.
Common mistakes
- Searching Shang for every map: later Depths maps are found elsewhere during exploration.
- Assuming a found map is already an unlocked destination: deliver it to Davis.
- Skipping the return visit after Home Base opens: Shang’s Den of Darkness map is obtained by revisiting Outer Crossroads.
When to stop or switch
Stop when Den of Darkness appears in Davis’s destination list; continue exploring story areas for additional maps as they become accessible.
