Shang provides the first Depths map, opening a progression system for optional repeatable dungeons.
Shang at Outer Crossroads in Ruined City Underground; take the map to Davis at Home Base.
The first map is easy to miss because Shang’s exchange happens at Outer Crossroads after you have visited Home Base. The item is Map: Den of Darkness. Delivering it to Davis opens the first optional Depths destination, where you can gather Haze, materials, and items. Shang is the starting point for this system, not the source of every later map; other maps are found during story exploration. Bring each map to Davis to make its corresponding dungeon selectable. Once unlocked, the dungeon remains available for repeat visits, though its individual fixed pickups should not be mistaken for repeatable rewards.
The map handoff is a one-time unlock. The resulting Depths dungeon can be replayed, but map collection itself is not a repeatable farm.
Stop when Den of Darkness appears in Davis’s destination list; continue exploring story areas for additional maps as they become accessible.

Matching a boss reward to the material you need prevents wasted replay runs and separates fixed pickups from repeatable rewards.
Find the map along the Center’s eastern side by breaking containers in the designated room to reveal the ladder route.
A precise late-story collectible unlocks the Zero District Depths, a replayable dungeon for its own materials and boss rewards.
