WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Gossamer from Skittering Cavern

Skittering Cavern, a spider-filled cave in the Exiled Lands; its cave entry and boss are identified on the official community wiki.

Before you go

Farming steps

  1. Locate the named Skittering Cavern and prepare before entering; its spiders and resident boss make it more dangerous than an open-world harvest route.
  2. Equip the sickle before approaching spiders so the bodies can be harvested for Gossamer after combat.
  3. Clear a manageable section at a time and check for egg sacs as well as spider corpses; the sickle can harvest Gossamer from both.
  4. Do not push toward The End of All Hope unless you have chosen to take on the boss; ordinary Gossamer collection does not require defeating it.
  5. Collect the Gossamer you can carry, then leave by the route you entered rather than continuing deeper after supplies are low.
  6. At base, inspect the current Silk recipe and convert the amount of Gossamer needed for your intended craft.
  7. Use or store Silk for the planned textile or armor production and keep a reserve of unprocessed Gossamer if another recipe needs it.
  8. Repeat the cave trip when your Silk inventory falls below the next planned production batch.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat while you need Silk and can safely clear spiders. The output depends on what you harvest and the combat route, so do not plan around a fixed count per visit.

Common mistakes

  • Entering without a sickle and discovering after combat that the corpses cannot be harvested the intended way.
  • Treating the boss room as mandatory; the cave’s ordinary spiders and egg sacs are the Gossamer targets.
  • Converting every Gossamer immediately and leaving none for other recipes or later batches.

When to stop or switch

Leave when your inventory has enough Gossamer for the next Silk batch or when health, healing supplies, or carry space is running low.
