A Wheel of Pain at your base with a converted Taskmaster assigned.
Before you go
- Truncheon and bindings for capturing the Taskmaster.
- Wheel of Pain and the current food required for conversion.
- A safe transport route from the camp to your base.
Farming steps
- Look for an NPC identified as a Taskmaster at a hostile camp.
- Knock it unconscious with a truncheon and bind it before it recovers.
- Transport the captive to your Wheel of Pain.
- Load the captive and the currently required food, then wait for conversion.
- Retrieve the converted Taskmaster and place it in the Wheel’s worker slot.
- For later recruits, capture and bind a specialist NPC and bring it to the staffed Wheel.
- Start conversion and check the interface for the current progress and completion state.
- Bring bindings and check the route before starting a capture; losing the captive wastes the trip.
- A Taskmaster affects the process but does not remove conversion time or make different captive ranks identical.
Repeat, collect and use
Recruiting and assigning a Taskmaster is a one-time setup per Wheel. Converting additional captives is repeatable while food and targets are available.
Common mistakes
- Trying to staff the Wheel with an unconverted captive; finish its conversion first.
- Assuming the Taskmaster eliminates conversion time; monitor the station rather than expecting instant output.
- Beginning a capture without food or bindings at base; prepare the Wheel and transport equipment first.
When to stop or switch
Stop recruiting once the Wheel has a suitable Taskmaster; use the staffed Wheel for future workers as needed.
