WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Tilled crop beds at a safe base, with a chest and collection route beside the rows.
Set up a compact crop row within the arm’s effective reach, test the harvest and collection path, and replant returned seeds manually. Keep the bed sized to your available storage and attention.
Robot Farm Arm and suitable power or operating setup as required by its in-game description.
Tilled soil and planted crops.
Chest for harvested produce.
Seed reserve for replanting.
Build a small test plot near base storage and plant crops you can afford to cycle.
Place the Farm Arm where its displayed or observed reach covers the intended crop tiles.
Add a chest or belt collection route within reach of the arm’s pickup point.
Check that harvested crops are delivered to the intended container before expanding the plot.
Plant additional crops manually; the arm does not replace the planting step.
Visit the farm, collect seeds and produce from storage, and replant rows that have been harvested.
Use surplus crops in the Cooking Pot or store them for later meals.
Farming tips
Test with a small number of plants first because exact reach can depend on placement and current game behavior.
Keep planting seeds separate from food stock so a harvest does not accidentally end the crop cycle.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable with continued manual planting and seed supply. Harvesting can be automated, but this method does not create seeds or plant replacement crops automatically.
Common mistakes
Expecting the arm to plant: return to replant harvested plots by hand.
Building a large bed before testing reach: verify collection on a small row first.
Allowing the chest to fill: collect produce and seeds as part of base visits.
When to stop or switch
Pause expansion when you have enough crops for your meal supply or the collection chest needs clearing; resume after sorting storage and replanting.
