Crafting and quickhack components

Loot hostile Netrunners

Adds a combat-based chance to collect quickhack crafting components while clearing hostile groups.

PC / Global, with Phantom Liberty expansion
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Hostile groups in combat zones, gigs, and NCPD activity areas where an enemy Netrunner is present.

Hostile Netrunners can drop Quickhack Components, so check their loot whenever you encounter one. This is an opportunistic source: neither a component drop nor a specific amount is guaranteed. Use it alongside a gig, scanner activity, or another combat objective, then spend recovered components on quickhacks you actually plan to craft.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A cyberdeck-equipped character if you also want to use quickhacks during combat.
  • A build and healing supplies suited to the hostile group.
  • Inventory space for loot.
  1. Approach the hostile area and scan or observe the group to identify the Netrunner.
  2. Check the nearby map or journal objective so you know what activity the encounter belongs to, if any.
  3. Use cover and deal with immediate threats; prioritize the Netrunner if their attacks are pressuring you.
  4. Clear the rest of the group before searching, so you can loot safely.
  5. Inspect the Netrunner’s body and collect any Quickhack Components or quickhack-related items actually present.
  6. Check other enemy bodies and the activity’s nearby objective container for additional loot.
  7. Open the crafting menu and use the recovered components toward a quickhack you want, or keep them until you have enough.

Farming tips

  • Combine the fight with a gig or scanner objective when one is available nearby; the Netrunner is an extra possible source during that clear.
  • Loot the Netrunner directly: the component drop is possible, not guaranteed, and no fixed yield is established.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat this opportunistically at new hostile encounters containing Netrunners. Each encounter is finite; it does not respawn as a dedicated farming event, and component drops are not guaranteed.

Common mistakes

  • Counting on every Netrunner to drop components: inspect the loot and treat the material as a chance reward.
  • Leaving the area without checking the Netrunner’s body: finish the fight, then loot before moving on.
  • Attacking a group solely for a promised component yield: fold the encounter into another objective or stop if the fight is no longer worthwhile.

When to stop or switch

Stop making detours for Netrunners once you have the components needed for your planned craft, or when another available component source better fits your route.
