Where to farm
Abyss Watchers bonfire route in Farron Keep, where Darkwraiths move through the area and can fight local enemies.
Darkwraiths near the Abyss Watchers bonfire can drop Pale Tongues. This offline route lets you collect them without invasions, though each enemy kill is only a chance. Let the Darkwraiths engage nearby enemies if that makes the fight safer, then collect drops and reset. Turn rank offerings in at Rosaria’s Bed Chamber; keep separate count of any Pale Tongues reserved for respec or appearance changes.
Join Rosaria’s Fingers if pursuing covenant rank rewards.
Bring enough healing and a reliable weapon for Darkwraith fights.
Decide how many Pale Tongues to reserve for Rosaria’s services.
Equip Rosaria’s Fingers if you also want online invasion rewards.
Rest at the Abyss Watchers bonfire and move toward the Darkwraith route.
Allow nearby enemies to engage the Darkwraiths if you prefer to reduce direct pressure.
Defeat surviving Darkwraiths and collect any Pale Tongues that drop.
Check inventory and keep a separate count for rank offerings and personal respec use.
Return to the bonfire, rest to reset the enemies, and repeat the same approach.
When ready, visit Rosaria’s Bed Chamber to offer the rank portion or use the items for her services.
Farming tips
If the Darkwraiths weaken each other, wait for a safe opening instead of fighting both groups at once.
Online invasions offer an alternative Pale Tongue source; the offline route does not require matchmaking.
