Where to farm

Under the bridge linking Undead Burg and Undead Parish, near the ladder route from the Undead Burg bonfire.

A small rat group beneath the bridge between Undead Burg and Undead Parish gives an early opportunity to collect Humanity items. The target is close to the Burg route once its ladder shortcut is open, so you can make short attempts without committing to the deeper sewer route. Rat drops are random, and the bridge area has other threats; focus on reaching the rats safely, checking their drops, and returning to a bonfire before repeating.

How to farm

Before you go

Defeat the Taurus Demon and open the ladder shortcut to the Undead Burg bonfire.
Have a weapon that can handle several small rats quickly.
Optional: use Item Discovery equipment to improve drop odds.

Rest at the Undead Burg bonfire and climb the ladder toward the bridge.
Move under the bridge rather than crossing into the dragon’s exposed path.
Pass the two shielded Hollows carefully and approach the group of three rats.
Defeat the rats and inspect each body for a Humanity item.
Return by the same route to the bonfire and rest to reset the enemies.
Repeat while this early route remains safer or more convenient than later options.

Farming tips

The Sunlight Altar bonfire can serve as a base if you have safely reached it beyond the bridge.
A Humanity item is separate from soft Humanity; consume the item only when you want to add it to your carried count.

Repeat, collect and use

The rats respawn after resting, so this is repeatable. Their Humanity drops are chance-based, not guaranteed.

Common mistakes

Crossing the bridge into the dragon’s fire: stay underneath and use the Burg ladder route to reach the rat group.
Fighting the rats while shielded Hollows surround you: clear or draw the Hollows away before committing.
Expecting the early route to stay efficient: switch to The Depths when you have reached its bonfire and want more rats per pass.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the Humanity needed for your next kindling or human-form goal, or when a later rat route is easier to reach.
