Blacksmith passage after a boss biome during a normal run.

The Blacksmith’s Legendary Forge uses cells to improve the chance that future gear drops at higher quality. This is permanent progression, so a purchase supports many later runs rather than awarding a specific item immediately. Reach a Blacksmith passage after a boss, review the upgrade available there, and invest cells before continuing. The Forge is a separate progression target from paying the Collector for a particular blueprint.

How to farm

Before you go

Reach a boss and continue to the following passage.
Carry cells to the Blacksmith.
Have a Legendary Forge upgrade available for investment.

Collect cells while clearing the route to the boss.
Defeat the boss and enter the following passage.
Locate the Blacksmith and inspect the Legendary Forge option.
Review the available upgrade and determine whether quality progression is your current priority.
Invest the cells you want to commit to the Forge.
Continue the run knowing the improvement applies to future gear drops.
Repeat in later runs when another investment is available and you have cells to spare.

Farming tips

Invest when you expect to play more runs and want better quality gear over time.
Balance Forge payments against Collector unlocks if you still have important blueprints to purchase.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable while Forge upgrades are available. Purchases persist, but each upgrade is a limited progression step rather than an endlessly repeatable reward.

Common mistakes

Expecting a specific weapon from the Forge; it improves the chance of higher-quality future drops.
Skipping the investment point and carrying cells into danger; spend at the Blacksmith when the upgrade is worthwhile.
Treating it as the same purchase as a Collector blueprint; choose according to whether quality or a specific unlock matters more.

When to stop or switch

Stop investing when the next available Forge progression is complete or a desired Collector blueprint becomes the better use of cells.
