WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Blood Shard drops from Rift Guardians and Horadric Caches; Kadala is in town in Reaper of Souls Adventure Mode.
Blood Shards are a targeted gear currency: collect them from Rift Guardians, Horadric Caches and other supported activities, then spend them with Kadala in town. Before spending, decide which equipment slot can most efficiently produce your desired item. Shards are shared among heroes in the same mode, and excess above your current cap will not be collected, so check your balance during a farming session.
Before you go Adventure Mode access and an activity that awards Blood Shards. A specific gear slot or missing set item to pursue. Room under the Blood Shard cap, which rises with the highest solo Greater Rift completed. Check your build and list the equipment slot that would most improve it. Inspect Kadala’s slot options and choose the item type that can roll the target. Run Nephalem or Greater Rifts, or complete bounties, to earn more Shards. Return to town and buy items from Kadala for the selected slot. Inspect each result and equip a useful upgrade or keep a needed set piece. Salvage unwanted results when appropriate, then continue farming and spending. Farming tips Spend before hitting the cap; Shards found above the cap remain uncollected. Armor slots generally cost fewer Shards per purchase than weapons and amulets, so they can be practical targets when the pool allows. Repeat, collect and use Repeat the earn-and-spend loop without a fixed limit; there is no guaranteed item on any purchase.
Common mistakes Gambling across many slots at once: focus purchases on one useful target slot so results can advance a clear goal. Ignoring the cap: spend accumulated Shards before another Rift Guardian or cache can push you over the limit. Expecting Kadala to provide cache-exclusive legendaries: use the appropriate Act bounty cache for those items. When to stop or switch Stop spending when the target item is acquired or your build needs a different slot; switch to farming the source that supplies your next bottleneck.
