WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Kanai’s Cube in Adventure Mode, found in the Ruins of Sescheron in Act III; use the Hope of Cain recipe.
Kanai’s Cube rare upgrade narrows a random legendary search to one equipment type. Start with a level 70 rare base that matches the weapon or armor slot you want, then spend the recipe materials to roll a legendary of that same type. The result is not a chosen legendary, so use this when the target is among a manageable type pool and you can afford repeated attempts.
Adventure Mode unlocked and Kanai’s Cube retrieved.
A level 70 rare item of the desired equipment type.
25 Death’s Breath and 50 each of Reusable Parts, Arcane Dust and Veiled Crystals per attempt.
Write down the specific legendary you are targeting and confirm its equipment type.
Acquire a level 70 rare item of that type from drops or an artisan.
Open Kanai’s Cube and place the rare item in the recipe interface.
Add the listed crafting materials and select Hope of Cain.
Transmute the ingredients to create a legendary of the same type.
Inspect the result for the target power and useful stats.
Keep the desired roll; salvage or store unwanted results, then gather materials before another attempt.
Farming tips
Class-specific item bases can reduce the number of possible legendary outcomes for some slots.
Keep your equipped item safe; use spare rare bases for each transmutation.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat as materials allow. Each attempt consumes a rare item and recipe materials, and the target is not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Using a rare item below level 70: it cannot produce the intended level 70 legendary. Check the base before transmuting.
Upgrading the wrong equipment type: the output matches the input type. Confirm the slot before spending materials.
Treating one roll as guaranteed: keep the result only if useful, then budget for further attempts or change targets.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you obtain the target or the expected material cost is better spent on another slot; switch to Kadala or ordinary drops if that route is more efficient for the item.
