Cache-exclusive legendary items

Some legendary items are tied to specific Act bounty caches, so targeted cache farming can obtain gear unavailable through ordinary drops.

PC / Global, Reaper of Souls endgame
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Horadric Caches awarded by Tyrael after completing all five bounties in the relevant Act, in Reaper of Souls Adventure Mode.

When a build calls for a cache-exclusive legendary, identify the Act cache associated with that item and complete that Act’s five bounties. The resulting Horadric Cache is the source to repeat; ordinary Nephalem Rift drops are better suited to general legendary hunting. Since cache rewards are random, budget for multiple complete bounty sets and open the caches only after confirming their Act source.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Adventure Mode unlocked with Act bounty boards available.
  • The target legendary identified and its associated Act known.
  • A character able to complete all five bounties in that Act.
  1. Check the build item you need and identify the Act whose cache can contain it.
  2. Set the game difficulty to a level you can complete bounty objectives efficiently.
  3. Open the map and travel to each of the Act’s five bounty objectives.
  4. Complete every listed bounty and verify the Act board shows full completion.
  5. Return to town and collect the cache from Tyrael.
  6. Open the cache and inspect its legendary drops for the target item.
  7. If it did not appear, start another full bounty set for the same Act.

Farming tips

  • Cache-exclusive items are a reason to run bounties; for general legendary drops, spend more time in rifts.
  • A group can divide bounty work across Acts, then collect separate caches for the relevant source.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable without a fixed limit, but the target drop is not guaranteed. Each attempt requires completing all five bounties in the target Act.

Common mistakes

  • Opening a cache from the wrong Act: verify the target’s cache source before investing in a bounty set.
  • Stopping after partial completion: all five bounties are needed for the Act cache.
  • Expecting every cache to contain the desired item: keep repeating the same Act only while the target remains worth pursuing.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the target legendary drops or when another gear source has better expected value for your build; redirect to rifts or Kadala for nonexclusive items.
