Where to farm
The Vault in Reaper of Souls Adventure Mode, entered through a goblin portal outside rifts or a Puzzle Ring transmuted in Kanai’s Cube.
The Vault, also called Greed’s Domain, is a separate treasure area accessed through a rare portal left by a Treasure Goblin in Adventure Mode or by transmuting a Puzzle Ring in Kanai’s Cube. Clear its treasure rooms and defeat Greed at the Inner Sanctum. The boss can drop Boon of the Hoarder, a Legendary Gem useful for gold farming. Goblin portals do not open from Nephalem or Greater Rifts.
Adventure Mode unlocked and access to Kanai’s Cube if using a Puzzle Ring.
A Puzzle Ring to open a Vault on demand, or a Treasure Goblin encounter outside a Rift that leaves a portal.
A build suited to clearing the Vault and defeating Greed.
For a deliberate run, place a Puzzle Ring in Kanai’s Cube and transmute; alternatively, enter a goblin portal that appears outside a Rift.
Enter the Vault and clear treasure goblins and containers as you travel through its rooms.
Collect gold, gems and other drops along the route.
Continue to the Inner Sanctum and defeat Greed.
Open the boss’s reward cache and check for Boon of the Hoarder if you do not own it.
Equip the gem in a compatible jewelry socket when building around gold collection.
Use gold and gems for their relevant crafting and upgrade costs, then return to Adventure Mode.
Farming tips
Keep Puzzle Rings for Vault entry rather than salvaging them if you want a predictable access method.
For more gold-focused play, use the gem in regular Nephalem Rifts; it has no effect inside Greater Rifts.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever you have another Puzzle Ring or encounter another qualifying goblin portal. A goblin portal is chance-based; the Puzzle Ring is a consumable entry.
Common mistakes
Hunting goblins inside rifts for a Vault portal: those encounters do not open one. Search in Adventure Mode outside rifts.
Salvaging the only Puzzle Ring: transmute it to create a Vault run.
Assuming Boon of the Hoarder is guaranteed: clear Greed and check the drop, then repeat an eligible Vault run if it has not appeared.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the gold or gem result you need, or switch to regular rifts for gear and Death’s Breath; use bounties when Act materials are the priority.
