Seasonal and Rift progression

Weekly Challenge Rift cache

The weekly Challenge Rift reward provides a bundle of crafting materials and resources, useful especially near a seasonal start.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Challenge Rift activity selected from the Diablo III pre-game lobby.

Challenge Rifts offer a fixed character, build and dungeon layout to complete against a recorded clear time. Complete the challenge through the pre-game menu to claim its weekly cache on a character in the same mode. The activity is a limited weekly reward rather than a repeatable material farm, so collect it when it aligns with your seasonal or crafting plans.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to Challenge Rifts; in current game progression this is unlocked by completing a Greater Rift.
  • A character in the mode that can receive the reward.
  • Ability to operate the preset class and build well enough to beat the challenge time.
  1. Select Challenge Rift from the pre-game menu and review the preset character information.
  2. Enter the challenge and inspect the equipped skills and items before moving.
  3. Follow the rift’s actual layout and use the preset skills to defeat enemies and advance progress.
  4. Defeat the Rift Guardian and complete the challenge within the listed clear time.
  5. Return to the reward interface and claim the weekly cache.
  6. Log into the intended seasonal or nonseasonal character in the matching mode and collect the cache.
  7. Use its materials for early crafting or Cube plans, then resume normal farming.

Farming tips

  • At a seasonal start, claim the cache on the seasonal character whose early crafting plan needs the stock.
  • Practice the preset controls and skill bar before committing to the timed clear.

Repeat, collect and use

The cache can be claimed once per weekly challenge per eligible mode/account reward track; completing the activity again does not provide an unlimited cache supply.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to run the challenge with your own build: it uses a preset character. Learn its skill bar first.
  • Claiming on the wrong mode or character: confirm where the reward will be collected before starting.
  • Treating it as a repeatable cache source: after the weekly reward is claimed, use bounties or rifts for more materials.

When to stop or switch

Stop after collecting the weekly cache or after the challenge period’s reward is already claimed; switch to bounties for Act materials or rifts for repeatable resources.
