Fugu is a rain-gated Dazzle Beach fish, so timing the route to Valley weather is more useful than repeated dry fishing rounds.

Where to farm

Gold fishing ripples at Dazzle Beach while it is raining in Dreamlight Valley.

Fish for Fugu only when it is raining in the Valley, then work the Gold ripple pools at Dazzle Beach. The fish database lists Fugu as a Gold-ripple catch from that biome and the weather page confirms rain is required. Prepare your fishing rod and clear inventory space before the weather turns; if no Gold ripple is present, wait for one to appear rather than casting repeatedly into open water. Fugu can be cooked or sold, but its high-value catch is weather-limited, so keep quest or recipe stock before selling surplus. This route uses the Valley’s weather condition and named coastal biome as the trigger; it is separate from open-water Seaweed gathering.

How to farm

Before you go

Dazzle Beach unlocked and Fishing Rod available.
Rain in the Valley and a Gold ripple pool at the beach.
Inventory space for fish and any drops.

Check the Valley weather and wait until rain is active; clear weather cannot produce the target catch.
Travel to Dazzle Beach with the Fishing Rod and enough open inventory slots.
Scan the water for Gold ripple pools and cast directly into a pool, not into ordinary open water.
Complete the fishing prompt and collect the catch.
Check whether the result is Fugu; other fish can still appear in the biome, so do not assume every cast yields it.
Continue using Gold pools while the rain condition holds and the target stock is still below your goal.
Keep Fugu needed for a recipe, quest, or collection target separate from fish you plan to sell.
Leave when the rain stops or the required stock is met, then resume on a later rainy window.

Farming tips

The weather requirement is game-wide rain; the beach route is the target location.
Use the colored pool cue for fish instead of open water; Fugu is listed as a Gold-ripple fish.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat on future rainy weather windows when Fugu is needed. The route depends on rain and available Gold pools, so it has no guaranteed catch count per visit.

Common mistakes

Fishing for Fugu on a dry day and treating a long session as bad luck.
Casting into open water or the wrong ripple color when targeting a specific fish.
Selling all Fugu before checking current cooking, quest, or collection needs.
