Sell surplus weapons for mana

Converting unused weapons into mana funds equipment upgrades and defense construction.

PC / Global, original Dungeon Defenders edition
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Tavern forge after a campaign or Survival run.

Weapon drops can be useful even when you do not equip them: surplus gear sold at the Tavern forge becomes mana. Build a deliberate inventory routine so you retain current upgrades and planned gear, then sell items that no active hero needs. That mana can pay for item improvements or support future mission defenses.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Collect weapons from missions or rewards.
  • Know which heroes and builds need equipment before selling.
  • Have access to the Tavern inventory and forge.
  1. Return to the Tavern after a farming run and open the inventory or forge selling interface.
  2. Review weapons against the equipment worn by each active hero and builder.
  3. Keep weapons that improve a role, provide a useful alternative, or are reserved for a planned build.
  4. Lock protected items if the interface provides that option, so they are not sold accidentally.
  5. Select only clear surplus weapons and sell them through the forge.
  6. Check the mana total after the transaction.
  7. Spend proceeds on a useful weapon upgrade or retain mana for defense building on the next map.

Farming tips

  • Compare a weapon’s relevant stats and upgrade potential rather than judging only its displayed damage.
  • Sell high-value surplus first when you only need enough mana for a particular upgrade.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat after each loot run; selling is an ongoing conversion loop, and the inventory’s contents and sale value vary.

Common mistakes

  • Selling a planned build weapon: mark or lock it before bulk cleanup.
  • Selling equipment without checking all heroes: compare against each character’s current slot.
  • Spending the proceeds immediately on a marginal item: reserve mana for a meaningful upgrade or mission setup.

When to stop or switch

Stop selling once you have the mana needed for your next planned upgrade and no clearly unwanted weapons remain.
