Use Operation rewards deliberately and avoid grinding reduced Merc Coin returns beyond the weekly soft cap.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Operations menu for eligible Odyssey scenarios; spend Merc Coin through the relevant module purchase or upgrade interface.
Operations provide Merc Coin for buying and upgrading unique modules, alongside engineering materials. This target is a reward-management loop across Operations rather than a claim that one scenario pays a fixed amount. The weekly Merc Coin soft cap is 1,000 per cycle and resets at Thursday maintenance; additional coin can still arrive after the cap, but the return drops significantly. Difficulty, Operation length and whether the scenario includes ship or on-foot stages affect materials. Track actual results, decide which upgrades you want, and shift to material goals when coin returns no longer justify another run.
Odyssey access and an Operation-capable ship and on-foot setup.
At least one available Operation suited to your readiness.
A clear target module or upgrade to spend toward.
Ability to review current Merc Coin balance and each completion result.
Check your Merc Coin balance and identify the module or upgrade you are saving for.
Review available Operations, their difficulty and whether they involve ship, on-foot or hybrid play.
Choose a scenario your equipment can complete reliably; do not select hard solely for a theoretical payout.
Complete the Operation objectives and record Merc Coin and engineering materials shown on the result screen.
Compare the new balance and payout with your weekly progress toward the soft cap.
Purchase or upgrade the target module when you have enough coin, using the in-game module interface.
After reduced coin returns begin, continue only if the material reward or challenge still serves your goal.
Farming tips
Harder and longer runs tend to provide higher-quality or greater engineering materials, but require stronger preparation.
Merc Coin remains earnable after the soft cap, yet the reduced rate makes it a poor coin-only grind.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Operations as needed for the intended module or material target. Merc Coin is limited by a weekly soft cap with reduced returns beyond it; the cycle resets at Thursday maintenance. Module purchases are one-time expenditures per unlock or upgrade.
Common mistakes
Treating 1,000 weekly coin as a hard stop; earnings continue but are reduced after the soft cap.
Grinding coin without a spending target; identify the module first and stop once acquired.
Assuming material rewards are identical across scenarios; record the actual result and account for difficulty and mission type.
When to stop or switch
Stop coin-focused runs when you have the desired module or the weekly reduced return makes another completion inefficient; switch to a material target only if those rewards are useful.
