WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm The Farmer's Seedbed and Farm Soil at your base.
Collect wild wheat to unlock the Farmer's Wheat Seedling recipe, then grow seedlings in compatible soil. Keep some of the output available for continuing production and use the rest in food preparation. Recipe inputs can vary by current game state, so check the Seedbed before committing your stock.
Before you go Rescue the Farmer and place her Seedbed. Collect wild wheat to unlock the seedling recipe. Compatible plot soil and a place to grow the crop. Explore areas where wheat grows and collect enough wild plants to expose the recipe. Return to the Seedbed and inspect the Wheat Seedling recipe and required ingredients. Craft an initial seedling batch, reserving materials needed to repeat the recipe. Place Farm Soil or other compatible soil in a convenient base plot. Plant the seedlings and wait until the crop is ready to harvest. Collect the grain, set aside a continuation reserve, and use the remainder in food recipes. Farming tips Check the soil accepted by the seedling before laying out a large plot. Keep wheat intended for food separate from the amount reserved for future seedlings. Repeat, collect and use Continue by using reserved materials to craft or plant another batch after each harvest. The plot is a repeatable supply once established.
Common mistakes Expecting the recipe before wild harvest: collect wheat first, then inspect the Seedbed. Spending the whole harvest on cooking: reserve enough for the next crop cycle. Planting into unsuitable ground: use a compatible soil type shown by the crop and workstation. When to stop or switch Stop adding wheat plots when your cooking stock stays ahead of demand; repurpose spare plots for crops you use more often.
