WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Exposed mineable rocks near the Nauvis base or a planned construction area.
On Nauvis, stone can come from resource patches or from mineable rocks on the surface. This short collection route is useful when construction needs stone before a drill and furnace line is operating. Gather exposed rocks, carry the stone to where it is needed, and shift to patch mining when construction demand becomes regular. Rock collection is a limited local pickup; it does not replace a repeatable patch supply.
Before you go Access to Nauvis rocks that can be mined. Inventory space for collected stone. A defined use such as stone furnaces, rails, landfill, or stone bricks. A nearby patch and drill if ongoing supply is needed. Identify exposed rocks near the base or construction work that require stone. Mine the rocks and collect the stone they yield into inventory. Carry the stone to the construction task or place it in a clearly labeled local supply chest. Use the collected stone for the intended construction or feed it into a furnace for stone bricks. For recurring demand, locate a stone patch and place drills where their mining areas overlap it. Route patch output to furnaces for bricks or directly to the construction supply as appropriate. Check the remaining stock and switch from rock pickup to patch mining when local rocks are exhausted. Farming tips Collect rocks near a planned build so the stone is already close to its first use. If stone is going into bricks, keep the furnace output accessible to rail, landfill, or construction demand. Repeat, collect and use Rock pickup is limited to available exposed rocks; repeat collection requires other rocks, while a drilled stone patch provides the ongoing farm.
Common mistakes Assuming a cleared rock is a renewable supply; switch to patch mining for sustained demand. Carrying stone without a planned destination; use a nearby construction need or labeled stock point. Building a furnace line without fuel; supply the furnace before expecting bricks. When to stop or switch Stop collecting local rocks when they are gone or the immediate build has enough stone; establish patch mining if demand continues.
