WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Sanctuary Hills riverfront settlement, with purifiers placed at the water source.
Sanctuary Hills has river access for settlement water production. Powered purifiers can create purified water when the settlement's production exceeds resident demand and its conditions allow output to be stored. Collect the surplus from the Workshop and sell it to vendors, or keep some for crafting and healing. This is a gradual settlement supply loop, not an immediate payout from placing a purifier.
Materials to build water purifiers and generators.
Enough power for the purifier units; the reported Industrial Water Purifier requirement is five power.
Water production capacity above settlement demand.
Open Workshop mode at Sanctuary Hills and select a spot at the river where a purifier can operate.
Build the purifier and a generator with the required power capacity.
Connect the purifier to the generator and confirm the settlement resource display registers water and power.
Check the settlement's water demand and add capacity only if production remains short of a surplus.
Allow the settlement to produce stored surplus under its current conditions.
Open the Workshop inventory and collect available Purified Water.
Keep a portion for crafting or healing, then sell the excess to a vendor for caps.
Farming tips
The resource panel helps distinguish installed capacity from a genuine surplus over settlement needs.
Use Workshop collection as the checkpoint; purifier placement alone does not mean water is ready to take.
Repeat, collect and use
Collect available surplus periodically as the settlement produces it. Output depends on production, demand, and storage conditions, and no fixed yield or timer is guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Building without enough power leaves the purifier ineffective; check the power connection and resource panel.
Ignoring resident demand can prevent surplus from being available; build capacity with demand in mind.
Expecting water instantly after construction can lead to repeated empty checks; give production time and verify Workshop storage.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when you have enough water for your current sale or crafting needs; add production only if demand and available storage still permit a surplus.
