WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Workshop inventory at a settlement with powered water purifiers, such as Sanctuary Hills.

Settlement water production can place purified water in Workshop storage when production and settlement conditions allow it. Players who use water for crafting or healing can collect a reserve before selling any excess for caps. This collection routine uses a powered purifier setup such as Sanctuary Hills, but its goal is supply management rather than maximizing vendor income. Check actual stored output rather than relying on a fixed yield.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to a settlement workshop with a valid water source.
  • Powered purifiers appropriate to that source.
  • Water production sufficient to create surplus beyond settlement demand.
  1. At Sanctuary Hills or another suitable settlement, inspect the resource panel for water production and demand.
  2. Build purifiers at the valid water source and connect them to sufficient generator power.
  3. Confirm the settlement panel reflects the water system before waiting for output.
  4. After production has had a chance to accumulate, open Workshop inventory and check for Purified Water.
  5. Withdraw enough water to cover your intended crafting or healing reserve.
  6. Store the reserved amount in a safe container or keep it with your character as needed.
  7. Sell only the amount left after the reserve is set aside.

Farming tips

  • Collect from Workshop storage and confirm the amount actually available; production capacity is not the same as stored output.
  • Recheck settlement demand if water stops appearing, since surplus depends on the settlement's conditions.

Repeat, collect and use

Check Workshop storage periodically and collect available surplus. The amount and timing are conditional, with no fixed yield promised.

Common mistakes

  • Selling the entire supply before crafting can leave you without recipe ingredients; reserve what you need first.
  • Assuming a purifier produces water without sufficient power or valid placement can waste building materials; verify the resource panel.
  • Expecting a set collection interval or quantity can mislead planning; inspect inventory and adjust to actual output.

When to stop or switch

Stop collecting when you have enough water for planned uses; sell or leave remaining surplus and revisit when your reserve runs low.
