WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A connected settlement garden, followed by any accessible vendor who buys your crops.
Corn, mutfruit, and tato have a crafting use: together with purified water, they make vegetable starch, which supplies adhesive for weapon and armor mods. When those ingredients exceed what you plan to cook, sell the extra crops to a vendor instead of letting them occupy your inventory. This is a small settlement-to-caps loop, not a substitute for water production or a promise of a fixed income. Keep a reserve for your next adhesive batch, then collect and trade only the surplus.
A settlement workshop with harvestable corn, mutfruit, or tato.
Access to a vendor and enough carry capacity for the harvest.
A reserve plan for vegetable starch ingredients and purified water.
Harvest the connected settlement crops you intend to trade.
Check how much corn, mutfruit, and tato you want to keep for vegetable starch.
Set aside that crafting reserve and identify only the extra crops as sale stock.
Carry the surplus to a vendor who accepts the crops.
Trade the surplus for caps, checking the offer before confirming.
Return to the settlement and store any crops you kept for crafting.
Use the caps for a planned purchase, such as a needed crafting component.
Farming tips
Keep the full vegetable-starch ingredient set in mind; having a surplus of one crop does not replace a missing crop or purified water.
Sell only what you can spare after accounting for your next adhesive batch.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat after later harvests whenever you have crops beyond your crafting reserve. Crop output and sale value depend on what you actually harvest and the vendor trade; this is not a guaranteed fixed-rate income farm.
Common mistakes
Selling every crop can leave you short of vegetable starch ingredients; reserve the planned batch first.
Treating one abundant crop as a complete starch supply overlooks the other crops and purified water; check the whole recipe before trading.
Assuming vendors will pay a fixed amount can lead to a shortfall; review the actual offer before completing the trade.
When to stop or switch
Stop selling when you have the caps needed for your purchase or the remaining harvest is needed for crafting; resume after another surplus harvest.
