Research unlocks new machinery and construction options. Setting aside the materials requested for a chosen unlock prevents routine building from consuming the batch you intended to use for progression.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At the research station and its current research interface; gather requested items from their corresponding storage and production lines.
Use the live research interface to identify a specific available unlock and its displayed material needs. Collect those items from their normal production lines, reserve them, and deliver them only when the required batch is ready.
Production or collection access to the displayed materials
Open the research interface and choose an unlock that serves a current factory need.
Read the material requests shown for that unlock in the current build.
Check your existing stock before diverting items from construction or production.
Create a labeled reserve for the requested items so they remain available for research.
Collect missing resources through their established mining or processing lines.
Deliver the required materials to the station and select the intended unlock.
After completion, check the interface again before preparing another research batch.
Farming tips
Use the live requirements each time; do not rely on an assumed quantity from a different build.
Reserve only what the chosen unlock requests so essential factory lines are not unnecessarily starved.
Repeat, collect and use
Research preparation is repeatable for each available unlock, but each unlock's requirements and completion are limited to its current state in the interface.
Common mistakes
Preparing a batch from memory can leave research short; read the current station requirements first.
Using reserved inputs for general construction breaks the plan; keep them visibly separate until delivery.
Starting several material diversions at once can stall production; complete one chosen unlock's batch at a time.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting for an unlock once its displayed requirements are met and the research is selected or completed. Switch to the next available goal that fits your current progression.
