Where to farm
Seed mounds in Oceanus on the Underworld route; dig with the Silver Spade, then grow the seed at the Crossroads.
To grow Cattail, first find its seed mound in Oceanus on an Underworld run. The Silver Spade must be unlocked for digging; as with other gathering tools in this edition, unlocking it makes it active automatically rather than requiring a run loadout. Mounds are encountered as room finds, so inspect the chambers you traverse without expecting a seed at a fixed location. The mound yields a seed, not the finished ingredient. Plant that seed in the Crossroads garden, wait for the garden to show the crop is ready, and harvest Cattail for the recipe you selected.
Unlock the Silver Spade in the Crossroads gathering tools.
Unlock the Underworld route and progress to Oceanus.
Have an open garden plot and a current Cattail use in mind.
Start an Underworld run and advance from Erebus into Oceanus.
Check each chamber for a seed mound while exploring its accessible paths.
When a mound appears, interact with it to dig using the Silver Spade.
Collect the Cattail seed and continue checking rooms as you progress.
At the Crossroads, plant the seed in an available garden plot.
Check the garden after time has passed; harvest only when it marks the crop ready.
Use the resulting Cattail for the displayed recipe or retain it for a known requirement.
Farming tips
Check the garden before another run so a ready crop does not sit uncollected.
Review the Cauldron first and reserve the harvest for the recipe that needs it.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Oceanus searches when more Cattail is required, then cycle each seed through planting and harvest. Seed mounds are variable, and each seed produces a garden crop only after growth completes. Spend the crop on the target recipe and reassess the remaining ingredients.
Common mistakes
Expecting every Oceanus chamber to contain a mound: inspect rooms, but allow for variable appearances.
Thinking the Spade must be equipped for the night: unlock it and gathering tools are active automatically.
Using the seed as if it were harvested Cattail: plant it, wait for the ready state, and collect the crop.
When to stop or switch
Stop targeting Cattail once your harvested amount covers the next recipe requirement; move to another missing ingredient.
