Tower activities offer repeatable rune and loot attempts, while the exact rune source should be confirmed in the Journal before committing.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
The Black Tower or Chaos Tower activity identified by the rune’s current Adventure Journal source.
Use a Tower route only after identifying a rune target and confirming the relevant activity can supply it. Black Tower and Chaos Tower are separate named routes; choose the one supported by the target’s current source entry and your character’s clear ability. Keep matching bases visible if the rune plan needs one.
Unlock the Tower activity that matches the target source.
Identify the exact rune and any base or socket requirements for its use.
Set a loot filter for the rune, usable substitutes, and required bases.
Have enough defense and damage to clear the chosen route without repeated recovery.
Search the Adventure Journal for the exact rune name and record its named source.
Select Black Tower or Chaos Tower only if it matches that entry or the current Rune Farming route.
Set the filter to show the rune, useful replacements, and bases needed for the intended runeword.
Enter the activity and clear its listed floors or encounters, collecting visible target drops.
Inspect runes and bases after each run; keep items that fit the planned build and stash other usable options.
Record deaths, run time, and useful drops over a consistent sample.
If the Tower is too costly to clear, lower difficulty or move to another listed source for the same rune.
Farming tips
Do not assume both Tower modes share an identical rune pool; confirm the named item’s source before choosing.
A matching base can be the bottleneck even when the rune drops, so leave it visible in the filter.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable while the selected Tower activity is accessible. Rune drops are not guaranteed per floor or run.
Common mistakes
Farming a Tower solely because it is available: verify that it can drop the named rune.
Hiding all bases: preserve the correct socket count and base type for the planned runeword.
Pushing a harder route with repeated deaths: compare the same target on a safer listed difficulty.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the rune and usable base are secured or the build no longer needs them. Switch to another Journal-listed rune source if the Tower’s clear and recovery time outweigh its progress.
