Where to farm
Deep Exotic deposits on eligible prospects, located using a Radar.
Deep Exotic extraction is a multi-stage operation: locate a deposit with a Radar, then use a Deep Mining Drill and fuel to extract it. It is a different method from mining cave nodes, which are found inside caves and do not use a scanner. Confirm that the prospect permits the equipment and extraction route before investing in the setup.
A suitable prospect and a plan to revisit the extraction site.
Check that the prospect allows deep deposit extraction and gather the required Radar, drill, and fuel.
Craft and bring the Radar to the surface, along with the equipment needed to establish the drill.
Use the Radar to scan for a deep deposit and follow its result to the indicated site.
Set up the Deep Mining Drill at the located deposit according to its placement requirements.
Fuel and start the drill, then leave the site secure enough for the planned operation.
Return to the drill and collect the extracted Exotics when available.
Carry the output back and extract from the prospect successfully.
Farming tips
Plan for a return visit before starting extraction; the equipment and output make this more than a quick cave stop.
Do not confuse deep deposits with cave nodes: the two routes need different finding and collection methods.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat on eligible prospects when additional deposits and supplies are available. Each extraction depends on locating a deposit and operating the drill; do not assume every prospect has the same access.
Common mistakes
Arriving without both the Radar and drill plan; locate the deposit and have the extraction setup ready.
Using the cave-node approach for a deep deposit; scan for this route and use the drill.
Starting extraction without enough fuel or a way to return; prepare the full operation before leaving base.
When to stop or switch
Stop after collecting the drill's available output or when the required Exotic amount is secured; retrieve the output before prospect extraction.
