Recover Vigor lost on death by returning to its drop location before risking another fight.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
The place where you died, marked by the dropped Vigor, or the nearby Anchor Between Realms that gives access to the recovery route.
When you die while carrying Vigor, the unspent amount is left at the place of death. Your next run should focus on reaching that drop, not collecting more resources first. Use the Umbral Lamp to check the route and avoid starting an unnecessary fight on the way. Once recovered, return to a Vestige and spend Vigor on a level before continuing into dangerous territory.
Have died while carrying Vigor that has not been spent on a level or purchase.
Be able to return to the location of death from your respawn point.
Have the Umbral Lamp available to inspect the route and nearby threats.
After respawning, identify the direction of the death location and the route back toward it.
Use the Umbral Lamp to check for hazards and find a path that avoids starting an unnecessary fight.
Move directly toward the dropped Vigor instead of detouring to farm or collect unrelated items.
At the death location, retrieve the Vigor drop before engaging any nearby enemies if possible.
If an enemy blocks the route, draw it away or use a safer approach rather than beginning a prolonged fight beside the drop.
Return to a Vestige or safe checkpoint once the Vigor is recovered.
Use Upgrade Character to spend the recovered Vigor when you have enough for a useful level, then resume exploration.
Farming tips
Prioritize the recovery marker after a death; a second risky detour can put the original haul in greater danger.
Avoid carrying a large unspent amount into a boss attempt if you can spend it beforehand.
Repeat, collect and use
Recovery applies whenever you die carrying unspent Vigor, but each death creates its own recovery situation; there is no farmable Vigor reward for retrieving it.
Common mistakes
Fighting new enemies before reaching the drop: take the shortest safe recovery route first.
Assuming resting protects Vigor: resting restores resources but does not bank carried Vigor.
Leaving the recovery area without checking the marker: confirm the Vigor is reclaimed before continuing.
When to stop or switch
Stop the recovery run once the marker is collected and Vigor is spent or safely carried back to a checkpoint; if recovery is repeatedly unsafe, clear the route before another attempt.
