Anomaly hunts and afflicted materials

Choose an Investigation for a specific Afflicted material tier

Matching a target and Investigation tier to the Afflicted material you need helps avoid hunts whose reward tier cannot fill your crafting shortage.

PC / Global with Sunbreak endgame systems
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Quest Counter Anomaly Investigations; choose by eligible target and Investigation level. Anomaly Quests can also serve when the required material is listed for that activity.

Start with the Qurious Crafting recipe or upgrade you plan to make. Note the exact Afflicted material it requires, then select an eligible monster and Anomaly activity that can award it at the needed tier. Investigation rewards vary with Research Level, Investigation level, and quest details, so check the available quest information before committing to a run. Finish the hunt and inspect its rewards before deciding whether to repeat or adjust the tier.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Anomaly Research unlocked, with access to the needed target or activity.
  • A specific Qurious Crafting recipe or other use that names the Afflicted material.
  • An eligible target and an available quest tier that can provide the required material.
  1. At the smithy, open the intended Qurious Crafting recipe and note the material and quantity still missing.
  2. Identify eligible monsters for that material; for example, Afflicted Claw sources include Rakna-Kadaki, Almudron, Goss Harag, and Aurora Somnacanth.
  3. At the Quest Counter, review Anomaly Investigations for those targets and check each Investigation’s level and details.
  4. For materials tied to a particular star tier, compare the listing with an Anomaly Quest or Investigation at that tier; Afflicted Shell, for example, is listed among Anomaly 6-star rewards for Blood Orange Bishaten, Somnacanth, Jyuratodus, and Shogun Ceanataur.
  5. Post the best matching activity and hunt the target, focusing on safe opportunities to break parts.
  6. Complete the objective and collect the quest rewards; do not count ordinary materials as the Afflicted component you are seeking.
  7. Check your inventory and the recipe again, then choose the same activity or adjust the target or tier based on the result.

Farming tips

  • Research Level and an individual Investigation’s level are separate: use the specific quest’s level and details when choosing.
  • If the reward preview or current quest information does not fit the needed tier, choose another eligible activity before posting.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the matched Anomaly hunt as needed; the available targets and reward tiers depend on your unlocked quests and Investigation details.

Common mistakes

  • Choosing a monster without checking its material listing: confirm the named component and eligible target first.
  • Assuming any level for a target awards the same tier: compare the Investigation level or star tier with the material requirement.
  • Counting unverified ground drops toward the goal: track the material from the completed quest rewards and inventory.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the recipe’s required quantity. If the activity is not yielding the needed tier, switch to another eligible target or quest tier instead of repeating it unchanged.
