Relic parts can be assembled into artifacts and support collection or museum goals.

Use the Relic Scanner inside an Abandoned Ruin to find buried fragments. Mining ore and recovering relic parts are separate activities within the same access visit: scanner signals lead to dig targets, while colored patches provide ore. Collect parts for restoration, and consider retaining first completed artifacts for display before using or selling additional copies.
Repeat on later passes for additional pieces; individual relic targets and fragments are not guaranteed, so collection is open-ended.
Stop when you have completed the artifact or collection target you need, then switch to ore mining or another ruin floor.
