Progression-tier realms and their encounters, wisps, and item-extraction interface.
Pick the target essence tier before leaving home, then complete activities in a realm of that progression tier. Gather encounter and wisp rewards, and reserve extraction for items you can afford to destroy.

Combat gear suited to the selected realm and its encounters.
Inventory space and optional expendable items for essence extraction.
Check the recipe, repair, or progression purchase and note the required essence tier.
Open a realm at the matching progression tier; confirm its details at the portal.
Travel through accessible areas and collect essence from wisps where practical.
Complete encounters suited to your gear and collect their essence rewards.
If still short, review surplus items and extract only those not needed for planned crafting.
Return to a trader or progression interface and spend essence on the specific target.
Convert excess higher-tier essence downward only if the game’s current interface offers that option and lower-tier stock is needed.
