WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
The Village of Cursed Blossoms, the first main mission, in the clearing reached from the first Shrine by taking the left path past the first Gaki.
Gozuki is an optional early target with a Soul Core that comes only from this yokai. You can reach him in the opening main mission, The Village of Cursed Blossoms, but the fight is a sharp step up from the enemies on the approach. Defeating him also grants the Village Gate Key, which serves as a shortcut; that key is not the Soul Core. The core itself is a chance drop, so plan for repeat attempts if you want to attune it or compare its attributes with your current setup. After a drop, purify the core at a Shrine, then decide whether its effects suit your build or whether to use it for fusion. Replay the mission only while this early encounter remains a worthwhile target.
Have access to the Awakening Region and The Village of Cursed Blossoms.
Bring gear and healing supplies that let you handle an optional, high-threat yokai.
Leave time to reach a Shrine after the fight so you can purify a dropped core.
Select The Village of Cursed Blossoms from the Awakening Region mission map.
Activate the first Shrine and follow the left-hand path past the first Gaki into the clearing.
Engage Gozuki only if your current weapon, armor, and healing supply can support the fight.
Watch for his charges and heavy swings; avoid trading hits and punish openings after his attacks.
Collect the drops and check specifically for a Gozuki Soul Core; treat the Village Gate Key as a separate reward.
Reach a Shrine and purify any Soul Core before leaving the mission.
If you still want another attempt, replay the mission and return to the same clearing.
Farming tips
The mission gives you the option to bypass Gozuki; returning later with stronger gear is sensible if the fight is too costly.
Compare a purified core’s attributes with your current Soul Core setup before attuning or fusing it.
Repeat, collect and use
The mission can be replayed, giving another chance at Gozuki’s core. The drop is not guaranteed; purify and inspect each core before deciding whether to keep it.
Common mistakes
Assuming the Village Gate Key guarantees a Soul Core; it is a separate utility reward.
Mixing up Gozuki’s core with the cores of Yoki or Mezuki; each comes from a different enemy.
Taking the fight before you can survive it, or leaving a dropped core unpurified at a Shrine.
When to stop or switch
Stop after obtaining a Gozuki core with useful attributes, or when repeating this early mission is less valuable than progressing.
