The Nutrient Processor turns harvested crops and other ingredients into cooked food products, giving farm output a repeatable use beyond storage or sale.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A Nutrient Processor placed at a base or aboard a freighter.
Choose a food product in the Nutrient Processor’s recipe interface, gather its listed ingredients, then process and collect the result. Recipes determine the required inputs, so use the displayed recipe as the route rather than combining crops at random. A base kitchen or freighter makes it easier to keep the processor near a farm, while wild ingredients can fill gaps during early experimentation.

A base or freighter location for the processor.
Harvested crops or wild ingredients listed by the chosen recipe.
Inventory capacity for ingredients and the cooked output.
Build and place a Nutrient Processor in an accessible base or freighter location.
Interact with it and browse the available recipes for a food product you want to make.
Read the recipe inputs and gather each ingredient from crops or suitable wild sources.
Place the required ingredient in the processor input slots in the recipe arrangement.
Start processing and allow the processor to complete the recipe.
Collect the cooked product from the output and check its item description and inventory location.
Keep a reserve of farm ingredients if you plan to repeat the same food batch.
Farming tips
Start with ingredients already on hand so you can learn the processor workflow without overbuilding a farm.
Keep recipe crops separate from sale stock to avoid accidentally consuming the next batch’s inputs.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat for each batch when the listed ingredients are available. Each cooked product consumes its inputs; the processor does not create an ongoing output without more ingredients.
Common mistakes
Guessing ingredient combinations can waste time; select a displayed recipe and follow its inputs.
Putting the entire crop reserve into one batch can leave no ingredients for later crafting; portion out the recipe quantity.
Forgetting to collect the finished output leaves it in the processor; return to the output slot after processing.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the cooked quantity you need or your reserved ingredients are used; switch to growing or gathering the missing input before making another batch.
