Drecko Phosphorite to Pepper Farm

This combined ranch and crop chain converts Drecko care into Phosphorite for a Pincha Pepper farm.

PC / Global, base game; Spaced Out and planet packs are DLC
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Keep a Drecko Stable near a suitable feed source, such as Mealwood or Balm Lily where appropriate, and build the pepper farm in a location with room for downward growth.

Dreckos excrete Phosphorite, which can support a Pincha Pepper farm. The chain only makes sense when the Dreckos’ diet is sustainable for your colony and the farm can receive both required inputs. Pincha Pepper needs Polluted Water and Phosphorite, and the plant grows downward, so orientation and irrigation planning matter. Treat the ranch and farm as linked systems: a shortage of Drecko feed or Polluted Water interrupts the pepper output.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Drecko Stable, rancher, and a sustainable suitable feed plan.
  • Phosphorite collection and delivery from the ranch area.
  • Pincha Pepper seed in a suitable downward-oriented farm tile.
  • Polluted Water irrigation for the pepper crop.
  1. Set up a Stable with Dreckos, the required ranching equipment, and a duplicant with Critter Ranching skill.
  2. Choose an appropriate Drecko diet and confirm the colony can keep supplying it before increasing the herd.
  3. Collect excreted Phosphorite and store it where farm errands can access it.
  4. Place a Pincha Pepper in a suitable farm tile rotated so the plant grows downward, leaving space below.
  5. Connect Polluted Water irrigation and provide Phosphorite to the crop.
  6. Check the plant panel for unmet conditions and verify the ranch continues producing feed and Phosphorite.
  7. Harvest Peppernut when mature and route it to the Gas Range meal chain if that food use is intended.

Farming tips

  • Do not count Drecko Phosphorite as free: the ranch’s feed is an ongoing input and must be sustainable.
  • Use Polluted Water only after considering its germ status, especially if it comes from a bathroom system.

Repeat, collect and use

The chain repeats while Dreckos remain fed, Phosphorite is collected, and the pepper farm receives Polluted Water and fertilizer. Harvest Peppernut and replenish the ranch and crop inputs; output depends on the ongoing health of both systems.

Common mistakes

  • Placing the pepper plant without downward clearance; rotate the suitable tile and keep the growth space open.
  • Running the ranch on a diet the colony cannot sustain; secure feed before relying on Phosphorite production.
  • Supplying Phosphorite but omitting Polluted Water; maintain both crop inputs.

When to stop or switch

Scale the linked systems to the pepper demand you actually have. Stop expanding if Drecko feed competes with essential food crops or Polluted Water is needed for higher-priority uses.
