Where to farm
Corrupted Nexus encounters in afflicted Atlas areas; use the resulting Crystalline Shards through Atlas progression.
Corrupted Nexuses are Atlas encounters in afflicted areas. Completing one requires a Waystone and a fight through the Nexus to its boss. The boss reward includes Crystalline Shards, which can be traded for Atlas Passive Points. This makes each Nexus a direct progression goal: find an afflicted area, check that you can handle the encounter, complete it, then claim the points available from its shards. Nexus locations are limited to the afflicted areas you can access, so this is not an endlessly repeatable map farm. Use the Atlas progression interface to check and claim eligible points after collecting shards. The encounter is a meaningful commitment, so assess the Waystone and character readiness before opening it. Once the accessible Nexus areas are complete, return to ordinary Atlas exploration until another suitable target is available.
Reach the Atlas and locate an area afflicted by corruption.
Have a Waystone that meets the Nexus entry requirements shown in game.
Be prepared to defeat the Nexus enemies and its boss.
Have access to the Atlas progression interface to claim points from shards.
Explore the Atlas for an afflicted area containing a Corrupted Nexus.
Check the Nexus entry requirements and the Waystone you plan to use.
Open the Nexus and progress through the encounter, clearing its enemies.
Reach and defeat the Nexus boss to complete the encounter.
Collect the Crystalline Shards awarded for the clear.
Open Atlas progression and check whether the shards can be exchanged for points.
Claim the available Atlas Passive Points and allocate them toward your endgame plan.
Farming tips
Check the current entry requirements in game before spending or modifying a Waystone for the Nexus.
Treat each Nexus as a progression objective; prepare for its boss rather than entering solely to collect an unclaimed reward.
Repeat, collect and use
Complete other accessible Corrupted Nexuses for more shards. Each area offers a limited encounter; more require finding further eligible Nexus areas.
Common mistakes
Opening the encounter with a Waystone that does not meet its requirements; verify the displayed entry conditions first.
Leaving before defeating the boss; complete the Nexus to receive its shard reward.
Forgetting to exchange collected shards; check Atlas progression after a successful clear.
When to stop or switch
Stop when available Nexus areas are complete or the encounter exceeds your character’s strength. Return after improving your build or revealing more afflicted Atlas territory.
