WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Atlas maps with Ritual Altars; use Favour for Splinters, capture a completed altar with an empty Ritual Vessel, then pair a Blood-filled Vessel with a map in your hideout Map Device.
Ritual has two separate Vessel paths. First, complete altars and inspect Favour: if Ritual Splinters are offered, you may select them; collect 100 Splinters to combine into one Ritual Vessel. Separately, an empty Ritual Vessel can be used on a completed altar to capture that altar’s monsters, turning it into a Blood-filled Vessel. The filled Vessel can be placed with a map in your personal Map Device to add those stored monsters to a later Ritual encounter. Splinter collection builds a Vessel from rewards; altar capture uses an empty Vessel you already have. Neither route guarantees a fixed number of Splinters or a particular encounter. This is useful when you want to save an altar’s monsters for a later map while also considering the Favour rewards available during ordinary mapping. Before running a filled Vessel map, consider whether your character can handle the added encounter pressure. Follow the item state in your inventory so you know whether you have an empty container or a captured encounter.
Complete Act X and unlock Atlas maps and a personal Map Device.
Be able to defeat the monsters summoned by Ritual Altars.
Have Splinters to combine into a Vessel, or have an empty Vessel ready to capture an altar.
Open an Atlas map containing a Ritual encounter and clear a safe route to its altar.
Activate an altar and defeat the summoned monsters.
Inspect the Favour menu; select Ritual Splinters if offered and useful for your goal.
Collect Splinters over encounters; when you have 100, combine them into one Ritual Vessel.
To capture instead, use an empty Ritual Vessel on a completed altar to store its monsters.
Check the item: a captured encounter is a Blood-filled Vessel, distinct from an empty Ritual Vessel.
Place the Blood-filled Vessel with a map in your personal Map Device to add its stored monsters to a later Ritual encounter.
Run that map, defeat the added monsters, and collect the available Ritual rewards.
Farming tips
Splinters are a Favour choice, not a guaranteed altar reward; check the offers each time.
Before using the Map Device, verify whether the Vessel is empty or Blood-filled and prepare for the extra monsters.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat map Rituals for further Favour choices and Splinters. Each 100 Splinters can form a Vessel; monster capture instead consumes an empty Vessel, and each Blood-filled Vessel is used with a map for a later encounter.
Common mistakes
Expecting every altar to offer Splinters; choose only from the Favour rewards actually shown.
Treating Splinter collection and monster capture as the same Vessel process; 100 Splinters combine into a Vessel, while capture requires an empty Vessel on a completed altar.
Putting an empty Vessel in the Map Device expecting stored monsters; capture an altar first and confirm the item is Blood-filled.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have assembled the Vessel or Splinter stock you wanted, or after using the captured encounter; switch to safer maps if its added pressure exceeds your build's capacity.
