WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
An enclosed indoor grow room with hydroponics basins, a sun lamp, and appropriate temperature control.
Indoor crops need more than a roof and a basin. Most plants require at least 51% light, while common artificial lamps reach only 50%; a sun lamp provides the light level intended for indoor growing. Hydroponic basins can hold one plant type each, and crop growth still depends on temperature and other conditions. Build and check the room as a complete system before committing a large share of colony food to it.
Hydroponics and electricity research as needed for the planned room.
Hydroponics basins with one chosen crop type per basin.
A sun lamp covering the growing area and reliable power.
A heater or cooler as needed to keep the crop within suitable temperatures.
Choose an indoor room location that can be powered and temperature controlled.
Build hydroponics basins and select a crop for each; do not expect one basin to mix crop types.
Place a sun lamp to cover the growing area and connect it to power.
Use the cell information and plant details to confirm adequate light; ordinary lamps may fall short of most crops’ needs.
Check room temperature against the crop’s acceptable range and install temperature control if required.
Assign Grow work, then monitor the basins and room for light, temperature, or power problems.
Harvest mature output and move it to food or material storage before refilling empty basins.
Farming tips
Start with a manageable room and verify conditions in the actual basins before expanding the system.
Maintain backup food: indoor production can still be disrupted by power loss or unsuitable temperatures.
Repeat, collect and use
The room can produce repeated crop cycles while power, temperature, grow work, and plant conditions remain adequate. It has no guaranteed yield independent of those conditions.
Common mistakes
Relying on a regular lamp for crop lighting: check the actual light level and use a sun lamp for most crops.
Overlooking temperature because the room is enclosed: inspect the crop’s status and manage heating or cooling.
Planting different crops in one basin: set a crop per basin and plan the room accordingly.
When to stop or switch
Do not expand or replant while light, power, or temperature remains unsuitable; resume when the room maintains the chosen crop’s conditions.
