Recovering seeds from mature crops can help keep a planting cycle going and reduce how often you need to restock from village shops.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A restored village farm whose fixed season suits the crop, with access to the crop’s seed shop if you need to restock.
Build a practical seed reserve by growing a crop, checking its harvest for a returned seed, and using that seed in a later planting. A returned seed usually keeps the planted level, though a higher-level result is possible. This is a chance-based replenishment loop, so keep enough seed stock to continue if a harvest does not return one. It is useful when you want to maintain a crop supply for later harvests, requests, or other uses.
A seed for a crop suited to the chosen village’s season.
An open field tile, Hoe, and Sacred Umbrella for planting and watering.
A way to store seeds and separate produce needed for requests or other goals.
Choose a crop you expect to plant again, and check that the village’s fixed season suits it.
Plant the seed in an open tile and keep the crop watered as it grows.
Wait until the crop is fully grown, then harvest it.
Check the harvest output for a returned seed and inspect its level before sorting it away.
Set aside any crop needed for a current request or other planned use.
Replant the returned seed when you are ready to continue the crop cycle.
If no seed returned, or you need more than you recovered, restock from the appropriate village seed shop.
Farming tips
Keep one seed aside before planting a larger batch so a missed return does not end the cycle.
Check request and crafting needs before using or selling the crop portion of a harvest.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the grow, water, harvest, and seed-check cycle for as long as you want that crop. Seed returns are not guaranteed, and returned seeds usually match the planted level; buy replacements when your reserve runs short.
Common mistakes
Counting on every crop to return a seed: retain a backup or plan to restock from a shop.
Planting in a village whose season does not suit the crop: move the planting to a suitable village field.
Selling or using the whole harvest before sorting it: check for returned seeds and reserve crops needed for requests first.
When to stop or switch
Stop the loop when your seed reserve is sufficient for the next planting, or switch the field to a crop needed for a request or another immediate goal.
