WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Metal ore nodes around cliffs, mountains, and other rock formations on procedural maps.

Gather metal ore from its own node type, then smelt it at base into metal fragments. A focused run makes it easier to return with the material your current crafting or building plan needs.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A rock or mining tool.
  • Inventory space and a return route from rocky terrain.
  • A furnace and fuel at base.
  1. Choose a metal-fragment goal for a craft or base project.
  2. Travel to rocky terrain and identify a red-brown metal node.
  3. Check nearby approaches for players before mining.
  4. Mine the node, following visible hotspots in sequence when practical.
  5. Collect the ore and return before the load becomes difficult to protect.
  6. At base, place ore and fuel in a furnace.
  7. Collect the resulting metal fragments and store or use them.

Farming tips

  • Consecutive hotspot hits improve resources per hit; missing one resets the bonus, but does not raise the node's total yield.
  • Hotspots may need illumination and time to appear, so do not mistake poor visibility for their absence.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the gather-and-smelt loop whenever you need more fragments; this is an ongoing resource farm.

Common mistakes

  • Mining the wrong node: check its appearance before starting.
  • Treating hotspots as extra total yield: they affect resources per hit, not the node's overall yield.
  • Carrying an unnecessarily large load: bank a smaller haul if the route becomes contested.

When to stop or switch

Stop when your current crafting or building plan has enough fragments, or leave early if players contest the route.
