A vehicle can support longer supply runs when it has fuel and the parts required to operate; checking those needs before departure avoids stranding yourself.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Petrol Station for gasoline canister refills; Mechanic trader for vehicle service and parts.
Treat fuel and repairs as separate logistics tasks. Gasoline canisters can be refilled at Petrol Stations. Vehicle parts may be found through looting or bought from the Mechanic; engine installation or service must be handled there, while requirements for other parts depend on skill and tools.
The four trader outposts are marked in A0, B4, C2 and Z3. Choose a General Store for goods or a Mechanic for vehicle parts; check live stock when you arrive.

How to farm
Before you go
Vehicle with a known fuel and parts condition.
Gasoline canister or suitable fuel container.
Funds or repair items for any required parts.
Inventory space and tools appropriate to the part being fitted.
Inspect the vehicle before leaving and note its fuel level and any missing or damaged parts.
Decide whether the trip requires fuel, a replacement part, or both; avoid carrying unrelated spares.
Take a gasoline canister to a Petrol Station and refill it there.
Use the canister to refuel the vehicle, then check that the vehicle has enough fuel for the intended journey.
For a missing part, search through loot or check the Mechanic trader for available stock.
Use the Mechanic for engine service or installation; verify skill and tool needs before fitting other parts yourself.
Recheck the vehicle before departing and keep a fuel reserve for the return leg.
Farming tips
Gasoline is carried in canisters; do not confuse it with fuel for other tank-fed appliances.
Inspect current vehicle and server conditions before planning a long route because available parts and models can differ.
Repeat, collect and use
Refuel and source replacement parts as needed. Fuel canister refills are repeatable when a Petrol Station is accessible; parts and trader stock are not guaranteed.
Common mistakes
Leaving without checking fuel can strand the vehicle; verify the gauge before a long trip.
Assuming every part can be installed at home overlooks the Mechanic requirement for engines; take engine work to the Mechanic.
Using the wrong fuel type for an appliance or vehicle wastes a supply run; confirm the fuel and container match.
When to stop or switch
Do not depart until essential parts are fitted and the fuel level suits the planned route; postpone optional repairs if the vehicle is already fit for the trip.
