Brew Fortify Carry Weight potions

A Fortify Carry Weight potion temporarily increases carrying capacity, letting you carry a heavier haul before returning to storage or a merchant.

Where to farm

An Alchemy Lab, using Creep Cluster, Giant’s Toe or another ingredient confirmed to share Fortify Carry Weight.

Creep Cluster and Giant’s Toe share Fortify Carry Weight, so they can be paired at an Alchemy Lab for a potion that supports a loot run. Other compatible ingredients may also be available, but check their effects before using them. The useful output is temporary capacity, so time the potion around a specific load rather than drinking it between trips.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Learn or identify Fortify Carry Weight on at least two compatible ingredients.
  • Reach an Alchemy Lab.
  • Have a planned haul that will benefit from extra carrying capacity.
  1. Collect Creep Cluster from the hot springs south of Windhelm or obtain Giant’s Toe through available sources.
  2. Check ingredient effects and confirm that two items share Fortify Carry Weight.
  3. Activate an Alchemy Lab and combine the compatible ingredients.
  4. Collect the finished potion and keep it accessible in inventory.
  5. Drink it when your current load is close to capacity and you still need to collect loot.
  6. Use the additional capacity to reach storage or a vendor, then sell or stash the haul.

Farming tips

  • Save the potion for a trip with valuable loot or materials rather than using it while nearly empty.
  • Creep Cluster has other useful combinations, so keep enough for your planned Alchemy recipes.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the gather-and-brew cycle while you have compatible ingredients. Each potion consumes ingredients; the capacity benefit is temporary.

Common mistakes

  • Do not brew with only one matching ingredient; the lab needs a shared effect to produce the intended potion.
  • Do not drink the potion before the load becomes relevant, since its effect does not solve a later trip indefinitely.
  • Do not confuse Fortify Carry Weight with permanent inventory capacity.

When to stop or switch

Stop brewing when you have enough potions for your planned hauling trips or when ingredients are better reserved for another recipe.
