Plorts and ranching

Conservatory Corrals

A steady, contained slime group turns matching food into plorts for Newbucks or Slime Science.

PC / Global, full release 1.0 (Sep 23, 2025)
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Corral plots at the Conservatory, with a matching Garden or Coop nearby.

Set up a Corral around a food supply you can keep stocked. Slimes make plorts when fed; favorite foods increase output, so confirm each slime’s diet in the Slimepedia before choosing what to ranch. Collect the plorts for sale or craft research, and keep different plort types from reaching slimes that could form Tarr.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Newbucks to build a Corral at the Conservatory Builder.
  • Slimes and a food source that matches their diet.
  • Containment upgrades suited to the slimes you plan to keep.
  1. Choose a slime whose diet and favorite food you can support, checking its Slimepedia entry.
  2. Build a Corral and, if the slime can jump out, add high walls or an Air Net.
  3. Vacuum compatible slimes on Rainbow Island and release them into the pen.
  4. Plant their preferred crop in a Garden or keep suitable chickens in a Coop.
  5. Feed the slimes and collect plorts from the Corral’s Plort Collector.
  6. Route useful plorts to the Refinery and sell the surplus at the Plort Market.

Farming tips

  • Favorite foods produce more plorts; establish the matching food supply before expanding the slime group.
  • A Largo can produce plorts of both slime types it combines, but feeding it another plort type risks a Tarr; keep its diet and pen managed.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the feed, collect, and route cycle whenever the slimes produce more plorts. Crop and chicken production can be maintained alongside the Corral.

Common mistakes

  • Stocking more slimes than the food supply supports; start with a manageable group and expand only when food is reliable.
  • Ignoring escape upgrades; add suitable Corral containment if slimes get out.
  • Selling every plort; reserve the types and quantities needed for recipes in the Refinery.

When to stop or switch

Add another slime group only when the existing group stays fed and its plorts are being collected without escapes or mixing.
