Where to farm
A mine site with a Mining Platform and room for an adjacent Mine Chest. Choose a resource site on the map layer for your current save; Shifting Sands is a separate DLC map.
Use this method to establish an outpost at a mine you have already chosen for its resource. The platform’s extraction is distinct from hand mining, but it still depends on fuel, a worker or your own operation, and a Mine Chest beside the platform. Secure and loot the site before repairing it. Treat the outpost as an ongoing task: check that it remains safe and that the platform and chest are functioning before relying on its output.

Combat gear appropriate for the mine’s guards and hazards.
A tribesman to operate the platform, or time to operate it yourself.
A Mine Chest beside the platform for output collection.
Pick a mine that produces a material you currently need, and verify its location on the correct map layer.
Scout the approach and identify guards and hazards before bringing a worker or supplies.
Clear the site, then search and loot it before repairing the platform.
Repair the Mining Platform to make it part of your clan’s operation.
Place or use a Mine Chest beside the platform, then assign a worker or operate the platform yourself.
Supply fuel and check the platform and chest to confirm extraction and collection are working.
Carry the collected material back to base and sort it for the crafting or building task that needs it.
Farming tips
A claimed platform is not proof that a site will remain safe; check for returning enemies when you revisit.
Bring repair materials, fuel, and storage together so the trip can establish a working outpost.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the fuel, operation, and chest checks while you need that resource. Collection is ongoing only while the platform can operate; a mine site is not a one-time guaranteed cache.
Common mistakes
Repairing before clearing and looting can leave guards active and uncollected supplies behind; finish the initial sweep first.
Assigning a worker without fuel or nearby Mine Chest leaves key parts of the extraction loop unsupported; set those up before leaving.
Assuming enemies never return risks a worker and the outpost; recheck the site on later visits.
When to stop or switch
Pause the outpost when your material reserve is sufficient or recurring danger and supply trips make another mine or manual gathering more useful.
