River Fish

River water in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest; these locations can have different fish.

Before you go

Choose a river fish you need and check its listed water body, season, weather, and active hours.
Go to the corresponding river in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest; do not assume every river segment has the same species.
Stand by open water and cast so the bobber lands in the river, aiming farther from shore when the location permits.
When the rod signals a bite, start the fishing minigame and keep the fish icon inside the green area until the progress bar fills.
Use controlled presses to move the green area; it gains momentum, so ease off before it overshoots the fish.
Check the catch name and retain any fish needed for a bundle, quest, or collection goal.
Sell or cook surplus catches when they no longer serve a progression need.

The bobber’s distance from land matters more than merely filling the cast meter; look for a stretch with fewer nearby shores.
A first catch is recorded in the collection menu, which helps track species already obtained.

Repeat during the target fish’s valid conditions. Catches vary, so continue until the needed fish is obtained or its time window ends.

Fishing at the wrong river or time; confirm the target’s water body and active hours before starting.
Holding the minigame control too long; the green area accelerates and can overshoot, so use measured inputs.
Selling the first required catch; reserve bundle and quest fish before shipping extras.

Stop when you have the target fish or its condition window closes; choose another fish or activity that fits the remaining day.
