River Fish

1. Choose a river fish you need and check its listed water body, season, weather, and active hours.
2. Go to the corresponding river in Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest; do not assume every river segment has the same species.
3. Stand by open water and cast so the bobber lands in the river, aiming farther from shore when the location permits.
4. When the rod signals a bite, start the fishing minigame and keep the fish icon inside the green area until the progress bar fills.
5. Use controlled presses to move the green area; it gains momentum, so ease off before it overshoots the fish.
6. Check the catch name and retain any fish needed for a bundle, quest, or collection goal.
7. Sell or cook surplus catches when they no longer serve a progression need.

Farming tips

• The bobber’s distance from land matters more than merely filling the cast meter; look for a stretch with fewer nearby shores.
• A first catch is recorded in the collection menu, which helps track species already obtained.
