How to farm

Before you go

Fishing rod.
A target lake fish with matching season, weather, and active hours.
Inventory space for fish and other catches.

Identify a lake fish needed for a bundle, quest, collection, meal, or sale.
Check its entry for the Mountain Lake location and the applicable season, weather, and time conditions.
Travel to the Mountains and choose an accessible lake shore or fishing platform.
Cast into the lake, aiming for water farther from shore when the surroundings allow it.
When a fish bites, keep its icon inside the green bar until the progress meter fills; use small, controlled inputs.
Review each catch and move required fish into storage before selling any surplus.
Continue only while the target remains available under the day’s conditions.

Farming tips

A longer cast helps only when the bobber lands farther from land; nearby shores and islands affect that distance.
Use bait or tackle only if your equipped rod supports it; neither replaces the target’s location and timing conditions.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat on any day matching the selected fish’s conditions. The catch is not guaranteed on each cast, and some targets are seasonal or weather-limited.

Common mistakes

Choosing a lake species without checking its weather or active hours; verify the day before traveling.
Casting into water close to shore when open water is available; reposition to improve distance from land.
Using an unsupported bait or tackle setup; check rod compatibility before equipping accessories.
