WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Deep Crystal Caves and late-game caverns, including areas around Deep Lilypads Cave and Crystal Castle.
Collect Kyanite only after preparing for the deep caverns. Gather loose crystals where accessible and use a drilled deposit for a larger haul, then bring the material back for late-game crafting.
Before you go Seatruck depth capability appropriate to the route, or a Prawn Suit prepared for deep travel. Prawn Suit with Drill Arm for large deposits. Oxygen and return-route planning. Equipment and supplies for navigating predator areas. Prepare the deepest vehicle you currently have and confirm its depth rating before departure. Travel down through Crystal Caves toward the deeper caverns, keeping a safe return route in mind. Search the walls and nearby terrain for loose Kyanite crystals and collect them by hand. Look for a large Kyanite deposit in the deep area and use the Prawn Suit Drill Arm if you find one. Collect the drilled pieces before moving away from the deposit. Keep distance from Shadow Leviathan patrol areas and avoid lingering in exposed water. Return to a depth-rated vehicle and store Kyanite at base for planned equipment crafting. Farming tips Mark the entrance or approach to the deep route so future collection trips are easier to retrace. Bring the Prawn depth upgrade as well as the drill when relying on the suit for mining. Repeat, collect and use Loose crystals and separate large deposits can be collected on later visits. A mined deposit is depleted, so search another site when it is exhausted.
Common mistakes Descending with a vehicle below its rated depth: upgrade first or use a suitable vehicle. Expecting a large deposit at every stop: collect loose crystals while searching and plan for variable site availability. Staying near a predator to finish inventory work: collect efficiently and retreat to cover or the vehicle. When to stop or switch Return when the vehicle reaches its depth limit, supplies run low, or predator pressure makes the route unsafe; resume after upgrading or restocking.
